Winter is coming … or so we heard. And with it comes all the harshest elements, brought into your home and ground into your beautiful floor from the bottom of many shoes and boots. But don’t worry; there are things you can do to protect your flooring before the cold months really set in.
Put down big, hardwearing doormats outside and inside so you can be truly sure that you have a chance to wipe off all that muck from outside before you get in. Also invest in some plastic trays to store any particularly muddy boots while they dry off.
They’ll soon be lining the streets with salt, don’t let it come in and scratch up your floor. Road salt is tough and it’ll stick in your boots and make marks on even wooden floor. Vacuum and sweep up regularly to make sure none of it has made its way past the door.
We’re not saying you’re not good enough here, but they’re professionals for a reason. You’ll be spending a lot more time indoors during winter, breathing in the bacteria and dust that gets trapped in carpets. If you have a lot of carpet in your home, get it professionally cleaned to make sure your home is healthy and looks great too.
